Cold Ice Remastered Beta 4 development continues. While we develop, go ahead and download Beta 3 and join us on our Discord. Beta 4 will add new features, including a single-player menu and multiplayer enhancements.
First, we have designed a single-player chapter select menu. Unlike Half-Life 2, Half-Life did not include selecting a starting point in the campaign. With the help of BlueNightHawk, we incorporated this new menu.
Second, at the community's request, we added a realistic version of the weapon skins with the blue hev suit. We support both HD and SD model sets. Since we were there, we also had silver and gold weapon skins, ala Goldeneye 007. We plan to place these skins in new mutators (Golden Gun, etc.), which can be set anytime to the player's preference.
Finally, Cold Ice Remastered supports a set of game modes. They include a One-on-One Arena, Iceman, and Last Man Standing (LMS). In Beta 4, we increased that list with classic GunGame and Capture The Chumtoad.
GunGame (also known as Arms Race) supports all forty-seven weapons of Cold Ice as players race to the final level. We took inspiration from the original add-on game developed for Counter-Strike.
In Capture the Chumtoad, a player will collect the chumtoad and gain points at the time of its possession. We borrowed the rules from Capture the Chicken, a popular mod for Quake II and Quake III.
